§ 1. Violation.

  • In case any building or structure is erected, structurally altered, or maintained, or any building, structure, or land is used in violation of this chapter, any proper official of the zoned area or their duly authorized representatives, in addition to other remedies, may institute any appropriate action or proceedings to prevent such unlawful erection, structural alteration, maintenance, use, or other violations to restrain, correct, or abate such violations; to prevent the occupancy of such building, structure, or land; or to prevent any illegal act, conduct, business, or use in or about such premises. Each day such violation continues shall constitute a separate violation. The director of planning and development may call upon the sheriff's office to furnish him with the necessary police personnel to carry out his orders. Whenever a violation of this ordinance occurs, or is alleged to have occurred, any person may file a written complaint. Such complaint, stating fully the cause and basis thereof, shall be filed with the director of planning and development during normal business hours.
