§ 20-146. Investigation.

  • The parish shall make an investigation of the qualifications of each application and it shall determine that the applicant is duly qualified to hold, operate and conduct games of chance under the provisions of this division and the rules and regulations governing the holding operation and conduct thereof with the parish. The investigation shall also determine that:

    (1)

    The member or members of the organization or association designated in the application to hold, operate or conduct or assist in holding, operating or conducting the game or games of chance, which the license is applied for, are bona fide active members of the applicant and that such persons are of good moral character and have never been convicted or any crime.

    (2)

    Such game or games of chance are to be held, operated and conducted in accordance with the provisions of this division and in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the holding, operation and conduct thereof.

    (3)

    The proceeds of the game or games are to be disposed of as provided by this division.

    (4)

    No commission, salary, compensation, reward or recompense whatever is paid or given to any person holding, operating or conducting or assisting in the holding, operation or conduct of any such game or games of chance.
