 Chapter 22. MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC

§ 22-1. Speed limits.

  • (a)

    Generally. Except on those roads having a lesser speed limit which shall continue in force, it shall be unlawful for any person to drive any motor vehicle upon parish roads at a speed in excess of 55 miles per hour.

    (b)

    Subdivisions. Except as otherwise provided by ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any person to drive any motor vehicle upon any public street or road situated outside of incorporated municipalities located in subdivisions at a speed in excess of 25 miles per hour.

    (c)

    Violations. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive a motor vehicle in excess of the speed limits established by ordinance.
