§ 24-19. Disposition.

Whenever any motor vehicle belonging to a known or unknown owner has been seized or is otherwise held by the parish for illegal parking, stationing, or when such motor vehicle has been, upon certification by the sheriff or any of his deputies or the president of the parish council, unclaimed, unattended or left idle for a period of 60 days on any public property, including state highways, outside of incorporated municipalities, such vehicles shall be classified as abandoned, junked and derelict and shall be sold and disposed of as provided in this article.
