§ 28-14. Rules and regulations, Lake Fausse Pointe Park.

  • (a)

    The park caretaker or any other person designated by the parish council shall have authority to collect fees for public use of the Lake Fausse Pointe Park. The camper fees for the park shall be as follows:

    (1)

    $10.00 per day for overnight camping with electrical hookup.

    (2)

    $7.00 per day for overnight camping with no electrical hookups.

    (3)

    $3.00 per auto for daytime use fee of park (excluding use of boat ramp).

    (4)

    $1.00 per pedestrian for daytime use of park facilities.

    (b)

    Disturbing the peace is the doing of any of the following while on the park premises in such manner as would foreseeably disturb or alarm the public.

    (1)

    Engaging in a fistic encounter;

    (2)

    Using any unnecessarily loud, offensive language;

    (3)

    Appearing in an intoxicated condition;

    (4)

    Engaging in any act in a violent and tumultuous manner by any three or more persons;

    (5)

    Holding of an unlawful assembly;

    (6)

    Interruption of any lawful assembly of people; or

    (7)

    Commission of any other act in such a manner as to reasonably disturb or alarm the public.

    (c)

    Camping regulations are issued in an effort to assure the visiting public a safe and pleasant stay at Lake Fausse Point Park. These shall be as follows:

    (1)

    Camping is permitted in designated spaces only on first-come basis.

    (2)

    Camping fees will be as per subsection (a) of this section.

    (3)

    Checkout time is 6:00 p.m.

    (4)

    Camping at one or more campsites at Lake Fausse Point for a period longer than 14 consecutive days is prohibited without written permission of the park manager. Written permission is required to camp in excess of 14 days during any 30-day period. No extensions will be issued during the months of June and July.

    (5)

    The campsite used should be kept free of trash and litter during the period of occupancy and should be cleaned of all trash, litter and personal equipment upon departure.

    (6)

    Quiet hours will be observed from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. The gate will be closed from 11:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. daily.

    (7)

    Visitor passes will be issued by the gate attendants; however, all visitors must be out of the camping area before 10:00 p.m.

    (8)

    The speed limit will 15 miles per hour on entrance roads and ten miles per hour within camping areas.

    (9)

    Parking is permitted in designated parking spaces only. Do not park on the grass.

    (10)

    Fires shall be confined to grills, fire rings, or fire pits provided at the campsites. Fire shall not be left unattended and must be completely extinguished before departure, and all excess wood hauled away.

    (11)

    Dead wood or other material on the ground may be used for firewood; cutting green trees or other vegetation is not permitted.

    (12)

    Camping equipment or other property left unattended at a campsite for the purpose of holding the campsite for future occupancy is not permitted.

    (13)

    Disposal of refuse, garbage, trash, rubbish or litter of any kind shall be in garbage containers provided at the campsite. A sanitary disposal station is provided in the area for trailers.

    (14)

    Pets must be kept under physical restrictive control at all times. Physical restrictive control may be pens, cages or on a leash no longer than six feet.

    (15)

    Recreational use within the camping area, including the water, is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

    (16)

    Unlicensed off-road vehicles are not permitted in the park.

    (17)

    No diving off bridges in the swimming area.

    (d)

    Restrictions for boat traffic.

    (1)

    Speed. In order to assure the safety and well-being of the campers and visitors to the state park, and to prevent damage to property that would be caused by wave action from boats passing at high rates of speed; the speed of boat traffic in the designated danger area is hereby reduced to no-wake speed.

    (2)

    Danger area. Notice of designation of the danger area shall be posted in the area in such a manner that the general public will be aware of the restrictions on boat traffic.
