§ 28-3. Restrictions on boat traffic in danger areas—Generally.

  • (a)

    Danger areas. The parish council is hereby authorized to designate by motion certain areas along bayous, rivers or other waterways where the flood conditions endanger life and property as danger areas. Notice of said designation shall be posted in said areas in such a manner that the general public will be aware of the restrictions on boat traffic.

    (b)

    Restrictions on boat traffic. In order to prevent additional damage to property that would be caused by wave action from boats passing at high rates of speed:

    (1)

    Water skiing is prohibited in the areas designated as danger areas by the parish council.

    (2)

    The speed of boat traffic in the designated danger areas is hereby reduced to no-wake speed.
