Pursuant to Section 8-05 of the Home Rule Charter of St. Martin Parish, Louisiana,
and in accordance with R.S. 33:4553,
et seq
, there is hereby created and established within the jurisdictional boundaries of
St. Martin Parish, Louisiana, a recreation board hereby designated as the "St. Martin
Parish Recreation Steering Committee." The committee shall consist of nine members
who shall be nominated by the parish president with approval of a majority of the
council members. A council member from each district shall provide the identity of
a candidate to the parish president for nomination. However, district 3 shall be represented
by two members until May 4, 2019, at which time the member from that District whose
term expires shall not be replaced.
A member of the steering committee need not reside in the district of the parish council
member who submits his/her name to the parish president for nomination. However, all
members of the parish recreation steering committee shall reside in St. Martin Parish,
Louisiana.
