§ 2-2. Additional court costs for support of Acadiana Criminalistics Laboratory.
(a)
There is hereby adopted the additional cost of court for all cases prosecuted under state statutes, parish ordinances or city ordinances in every city, parish and district court of the state, sitting within this parish, for the support and maintenance of the Acadiana Criminalistics Laboratory, in accordance with the following schedule:
(1)
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated and drug offense: $10.00.
(2)
Crimes defined in title 14 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 (R.S. tit. 14): $3.00.
(3)
Moving violations of provisions of title 32 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 (R.S. tit. 32) , or of city or parish traffic ordinances: $3.00.
(b)
No sums, as provided for in section (a) of this section, shall be charged or collected in the following cases:
(1)
Operating a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker.
(2)
Operating a vehicle with an expired driver's license.
(3)
Operating a vehicle without a driver's license upon one's person.
(4)
Nonmoving traffic offenses.
(c)
The sums shall be taxed as costs and collected by the proper authority of the courts in which the prosecutions are brought.
(d)
The sums so collected shall be remitted to the laboratory governing authorities, or to their designated custodian, on the first day of each month.
(e)
The sums so received by the laboratory governing authority shall be used for the necessary operating expenses of the commission and the laboratory.
