Latest version.
  • There are occasions where public hearings are conducted by the parish council. Such instances include, but are not limited to, the adoption of an ordinance, requests for zoning changes, variances, or exceptions, consideration of the violation of nuisance ordinances, and when the council sits as the board of zoning adjustment. On any such occasion, the dictates of section 2-73 of this policy shall govern such appearances; however, it is recognized that in the instances of a public hearing or requests for zoning changes, the chairperson shall have the authority to deviate from the constrictures of section 2-73 unless his/her decision is overridden by a majority vote of the council.
