§ 36-5. Penalties.

(a)

Any person who is responsible for the payment of the mandatory waste disposal services referenced in this chapter shall pay the monthly fee contracted by the parish council. The failure to pay for said services when due shall result in the assessment of a penalty equal to ten percent of the amount due and owing.

(b)

The failure to pay for the services timely and/or the failure to participate in the mandatory waste disposal program in accordance with the terms of the contract executed by the parish government shall subject each person responsible for the payment of said services and/or receipt of the services to a fine of $300.00 in addition to the interest charges set forth herein. Moreover, the failure to participate in the waste disposal program, as contracted by the parish council, shall be considered a nuisance and subject the offender to all additional penalties provided for by the ordinances of the parish.
