§ 38-97. Sewerage District No. 2; created, domicile.
(a)
There is hereby created a sewerage district which shall comprise and embrace all of that territory within the following described boundaries:
Beginning at the intersection of Louisiana Highway Numbers 686, 678 and 347; thence southeast along Louisiana Highway Number 347, a distance of approximately 650 feet to the centerline of the Dupuis Canal; thence southwesterly along the centerline of the Dupuis Canal approximately 3,400 feet; thence southeasterly along the centerline of the Dupuis Canal approximately 650 feet to the centerline of an unnamed canal; thence southwesterly along the centerline of unnamed canal approximately 3300 feet to the centerline of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; thence generally southeasterly along the centerline of the Missouri Pacific Railroad track, a distance of approximately 2,200 feet to a point approximately 375 feet north of the centerline of parish road "Dermilie Calais Road"; thence westerly along a line approximately 375 feet north of and parallel to "Dermilie Calais Road" to the centerline of Bayou Teche; thence southerly along the centerline of Bayou Teche to the southwest corner of irregular Section 62, Township 8 South - Range 6 East; thence westerly along a projection of the southernmost line of said irregular Section 62 to the centerline of Louisiana Highway Number 31; thence generally northeasterly along the centerline of said Highway to the intersection of Louisiana Highway Number 355; thence generally northeasterly along the centerline of Louisiana Highway Number 355 to the centerline of Bayou Teche; thence generally northwesterly along the centerline of Bayou Teche approximately 3,600 feet; thence northeasterly along a line parallel to and 200 feet northwest of the centerline of parish road "Willie Mason Street" to the centerline of Louisiana Highway Number 347; thence southeasterly along the centerline of Louisiana Highway Number 347 to a point approximately 550 feet south of the centerline of parish road "Will Angelle Road"; thence northeasterly along a line parallel to and approximately 550 feet south of the centerline of "Will Angelle Road" to a point, approximately 3,800 feet northeast of Louisiana Highway Number 347; thence generally southeasterly paralleling Louisiana Highway Number 347 approximately 2,300 feet to a point; thence northeasterly along a line approximately 1,200 feet north of and generally paralleling Louisiana Highway 347 along the centerline of an unnamed ditch to the centerline of the Dumolin Canal; thence northeasterly along the centerline of the Dumolin Canal, approximately 1,400 feet to the centerline of Louisiana Highway Number 686; thence southeasterly to the intersection of Louisiana Highway Numbers 686, 678 and 347, being the point of beginning.
Said district shall be known and is hereby designated as "Sewerage District No. 2 of the Parish of St. Martin, State of Louisiana." Said district shall constitute a public corporation and political subdivision of the State of Louisiana, and as such, shall have all the powers incidental thereto as granted by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Louisiana, including the authority to incur debt, to issue bonds and to levy taxes and assessments
(b)
The domicile of said Sewerage District is within the boundaries of said district.
(c)
There shall be three commissionerships for this sewerage district board.
(d)
The appointed supervisors of said sewerage district have staggered terms, rather than two-year terms.
