§ 40-240. Same—Hard-surfaced road.

  • (a)

    Residential—Open ditch drainage design

    (1)

    Minimum right-of-way width shall be 60 feet.

    (2)

    Minimum riding surface width shall be 20 feet.

    (3)

    Minimum shoulder width shall be five feet wide, and be fertilized and seeded to prevent erosion of shoulders into roadside ditches.

    (4)

    Minimum crown of roadbed shall be 30 feet wide.

    (5)

    Minimum two inches hot asphaltic concrete wearing surface on 8½-inch soil cement base at least 21 feet wide; or

    (6)

    Minimum two-inch hot asphaltic concrete wearing surface on compacted eight-inch crushed limestone base at least 21 feet wide; or

    (7)

    Minimum six inches of 4,000 psi concrete on eight-inch compacted base; or

    (8)

    Same standards as seven above, but with five inches of psi concrete base and 1½ inches of hot asphaltic concrete riding surface.

    (b)

    Same—Curb and gutter drainage design.

    (1)

    Minimum right-of-way width shall be 50 feet.

    (2)

    Minimum riding surface width shall be 27 feet from back of curb to back of curb:

    a.

    With two-inch hot asphaltic concrete riding surface on 8½-inch soil cement base; or

    b.

    With two-inch hot asphaltic concrete riding surface on compacted eight-inch crushed limestone base; or

    c.

    With six inches of 4,000 psi concrete on eight-inch compacted base; or

    d.

    With five inches of 4,000 psi concrete and wearing surface on eight-inch compacted base.
