§ 6-102. Vicious dog; definition.

  • A vicious dog is any dog declared vicious by the animal control manager or dangerous animal committee as authorized in this article because the dog:

    (1)

    When unprovoked, and in an aggressive manner goes after a person and inflicts serious injury on a person, or when unprovoked attacks a person in an manner suggestive of a hunt and kill; or kills a person; or

    (2)

    Was previously determined to be a dangerous dog pursuant to this article and causes a person to engage in behavior that requires defensive action to prevent bodily injury.
