§ 6-114. Failure to appear at hearing; consequences.
Failure to appear at a hearing in person or by submission shall constitute an admission by the owner that the facts of the dangerous or vicious dog summons are true, and the panel shall issue a written decision of final disposition containing a statement that the dog's owner failed to appear at the hearing and containing any applicable orders determined from the testimony or report of the animal control officer appearing on behalf of the parish. Failure to appear after requesting a hearing may carry an additional penalty to be determined and assessed by the committee. The committee shall serve the dog's owner with notice of the order of final disposition.
