§ 32-1. Encroachments.
(a)
It shall be unlawful for any person owning property abutting any parish road, to permit trees, shrubs, structures or anything whatsoever, to extend over or unto parish road rights-of-way, in such a manner as would endanger or inconvenience orderly public passage thereon.
(b)
If any such condition exists it shall, where necessary, be the duty of the designated parish official to notify in writing by registered mail the owner of the property on which the offending shrubs, trees or objects are located, and to give said owner ten days to either remove the said offending matter from the parish road right-of-way over or upon which the offending matter rests, or to signify his approval, in writing, that the parish, on his behalf, remove the offending matter.
(c)
If at the expiration of ten days from receipt of notice, the landowner has not removed or caused to be removed the offending matter, and has refused to consent to the parish removing it, then the parish shall remove the offending matter or cause it to be removed.
(d)
A copy of this section with the registered letter shall be mailed by the parish official, to the landowner.
