§ 28-7. Same—Boat landing at Lake Martin.

  • (a)

    Restrictions for boat traffic. The parish council is hereby authorized to designate by motion certain areas along bayous, rivers of other waterways where there is the possibility of harm to individuals and damage to property as danger areas in order to assure the safety and well-being of the general public and in order to preserve the wharf and boat landing area from erosion that might occur by wave actions from passing boats; therefore, the speed of boat traffic in the area adjacent to and surrounding the boat landing at Lake Martin is hereby reduced to no-wake speed.

    (b)

    Danger area. Notice of said designation shall be posted in said area in a manner that the general public will be aware of the restrictions on boat traffic.

    (c)

    Penalty. Any person violating this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction may be fined up to $200.00.
